Mary J. Blige ended Josh Groban's five-week reign atop the U.S. pop album chart this week. Her "Growing Pains" sold 204,000 copies in the week ending December 30, according to Nielsen Soundscan. No surprise that Groban's Christmas offering "Noel" would start to slide after the pre holiday rush. And slide it did, falling 77% from the previous weeks sales with 178,000 units. Alicia Keys "As I Am" rose a spot to No. 2 with 193,000.
Rounding out the top 10: the "Now 26" hits compilation at No. 4; Chris Brown's "Exclusive" No. 5; The Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" No. 6; Garth Brooks' "The Ultimate Hits" No. 7; Taylor Swift's self-titled debut at No. 8; Miley Cyrus' Disney double-disc "Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus" fell to No. 9; and Colbie Caillat's "Coco" to No. 10.
