ComScore released an update of holiday season e-commerce spending for the first 57 days of the 2007 holiday season (November 1 - December 27). Consumers parted with nearly $28 billion of their hard earned money during the season so far, a 19-percent gain versus the same period last year. Nice numbers compared to Brick-and-Mortar sales (rising in the low single digits), but a much slower pace for e-sales than in previous years. Last year's $24 billion in comparable e-sales during this holiday period was a 26 percent jump over 2005.
As for the notable shopping days: Black Friday (Nov. 23) e-sales were up 22 percent over 2006; Cyber Monday (Nov. 26) e-sales were up 21 percent; Green Monday e-sales (Dec. 10 - the busiest shopping day) were up 33 percent.
