Josh Groban this week takes the trophy for having the first Christmas album to top The Billboard 200 for five straight weeks, after his Noel moved 757,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Noel has now sold about 3.5 million copies, easily securing it as the year's top seller. This week's sales were no doubt pumped by last minute Christmas shoppers, but that would ring true for most artists. Because it's a holiday album, expect Noel to start falling down the chart in the coming weeks.
Rounding out the top five: Mary J. Blige: Growing Pains (debut); Alicia Keys: As I am; The Eagles: Long Road Out of Eden; and Miley Cyrus: Hannah Montanna 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus
